Set up Store and Process consent

The Store and Process consent purpose is a bit different than the Marketing Sendout consent. This is due to the way SuperOffice works and the fact that DataBridge is an import & export tool and not a pure synchronization tool.

For the ‘synchronization’ of Marketing Sendout consent, DataBridge is set up with a separate import from SuperOffice to eMarketeer and a separate import from eMarketeer to SuperOffice. For the import to eMarketeer, a SuperOffice Selection is created that holds all persons that need to be ‘synchronized’ to eMarketeer. To prevent that all persons are always exported, the option ‘Only retrieve new and changed entities’ is enabled. This way only new and edited persons are exported from SuperOffice.
And this is where SuperOffice has a difference in handling Marketing Sendout consent and Store and Process consent. When a user updates the Marketing Sendout consent in SuperOffice, this is recognized as a change to the person and this person’s details will subsequently be exported from the Selection. However, when a user updates the Store and Process consent, SuperOffice does not treat this as a change to the person’s details. The result is that this person’s details are not exported.

To solve this, you’d probably get the idea to set up a ‘synchronization’ of the full set of person details in the SueprOffice Selection. But when you think of it a bit longer, that does not seem to be a good idea. What would happen if a visitor changes the Store and Process consent in eMarketeer just before the import from SuperOffice runs? Indeed, the consent value that was just changed by the visitor is updated with the value that is stored in SuperOffice.

Our recommendation to set up the Store and Process consent is to only do a ‘one way synchronization’. Select the platform that should serve as master and only set up an import to the secondary (or slave) platform.
