Moving from Exchange on-premise to Microsoft 365

Overview

When you are moving your users from Exchange on-premise to Microsoft 365 you will need to create a new Synchronizer Profile with the Microsoft 365 connector.

Intended Audience

This article is intended for persons who are administrator for Synchronizer.

How to

  • Log into Synchronizer
  • Go to the Linked Users section
  • Click Action > Delete for each user
    Note: The calendars of the users needs to be cleaned in order to avoid duplicates. Read How to clean the Outlook calendar
  • Go back to the profiles overview
  • Click Manage > New profile
  • Create a new profile with the Microsoft 365 connector in which you can link the users again.
  • Follow all the steps in the profile wizard. More info if needed in Quick-start-guide for SuperOffice admins

Extending the idea

This article describes what to do when you are moving from Exchange to Microsoft 365. The basic idea can be used for any other conversion too, be it from Exchange to Google or from Google to Microsoft 365.
