How to use transformation Switch fields

Overview

The Switch fields transformation can be used to configure which field to import or export the value from depending on the value of another field.

Let’s explain by using an Excel file which we want to import into SuperOffice. In it we have the columns Country and Account Manager.

Depending on the country we want to add this to the Our Contact field on the company card in SuperOffice.

The file looks like this:

Now we create a new profile in DataBridge and on the Transform page we add the Switch Field transformation

Here we need to decide which field to use depending on the value of another field

So depending on the country we want to add the account manager from the file to the Our Contact field on the company card in SuperOffice.

When country is Netherlands we use the column Account Manager from the import file

When the country is Norway we use a fixed value (Thomas Speekenbrink)

Save the transformation and go to the Configure fileds page to map the fields.

At the end of the listed columns the new column is added as you can see below.

Configure the rest of your profile and run the job.

The results can be seen below. We have now imported the field Our Contact depending on another field, Country in this case.
